Jester School: Why do we use the Jester?

Jester School: Why do we use the Jester?

The jester is the awkward comedian, that deformed, ugly, horrifying being, almost beyond the human spectrum, belonging to the suburbs/catacombs of society. And for that reason, he is the only one who can afford the expressive freedom of irreverence before the King. That said, always at the risk of having “their heads cut off.”

It shows and facilitates:

Re-tuning in to The pleasure of irreverence.

It invites us to reclaim our satirical capacity to denounce, demand, and provoke; asserting our right to exist as deformed, free, and joyful animals.

Reclaiming creative rage as a force for transformation and belonging, in pursuit of awareness regarding our tenderness/aggression duality.

The re-appropriation of our instinctive energies related to our own aggression, to our immense animalistic/childlike creativity castrated by the dominant patriarchal socio-familial system, to find a new belonging for our deformed, excluded, and vilified parts.

Returning to the joy of my deformed and animal existence.

It allows us to investigate our anatomy Energetic energy from deformity, from the construction of our wounds, seeking another way of being in the body, another scheme of beauty outside of patriarchal canons, that catapults us directly to enjoyment, abandon, and animalistic bodily ecstasy.

Embracing the Spirit of the Pack

The gregarious spirit of the pack of jesters, the group of the excluded, as a path toward self-determination and self-belonging to my socially denigrated, maladjusted, and grotesque side.

The Instinctive/Animal Fall and Abandonment Achieving calm and nourishing rest for my grotesque body, which grants itself permission to fall, surrounded by the deformed, malodorous, and disgusting mass of the animal pack, represented by the Chorus of Jesters.

Need to Exist

The release of our animal energy through a righteous cry and mocking, which puts us in the creative game taking advantage of the immense energies that emerge from the furious need to exist.
