In Praise of Wood: A Scattered Journey to Animal Liberation. Jester’s Course

Description

A sprawling journey toward embracing and liberating Our Animal.

In Ancient Chinese Cosmology, the Wood element represents our natural, instinctive strength, our natural essence, our inner animal.

The wind and tree roots, with their perpetual flow despite any obstacles that may arise, are the natural embodiment of this element.

In our body, it is represented by the Liver/Gallbladder, which is emotionally associated with anger, frustration, and rage, and on the other hand, with instinctive listening and flowing with our natural selves.

On this journey, we will begin with one of the Theories of Suffering by Master Claudio Naranjo, according to which suffering stems from the humiliation, invasion, and punishment of instinct that we have endured during our “civilization” process, in our childhood, and which has given rise to neurosis and the loss of our innocence.

Using tools from the new Theory of Trauma, we will theatrically explore our deepest wounds, shaping a deformed body in accordance with our emotional biography, allowing us to rediscover the instinctive desire to exist.

“The Praise of Wood” invites us on a journey back to our Animal Force, embracing moments in which it has been vilified in the name of socio-familial adaptation/civilization; rescuing it and placing it at the service of theatrical performance.

It is an Embrace and a Theatrical Blessing Ritual of our CREATIVE RAGE, to decriminalize it, process it, and integrate it as a creative and healing force.
