Description
Pleasure, enjoyment, and creativity in deformity, ugliness, and irreverence: A process of deconstruction of our beauty schema. 🐣🐣🐣
This project proposes a journey back to our primitive, instinctive expressive resources, towards the re-appropriation of our instinctive energies related to our own aggression, seeking awareness of our tenderness/aggression duality.
It begins with an exploration of our own beauty schema, framed within the socio-cultural moment in which we live.
This course explores the first two energy centers: Fear as a survival force and Rage as a creative impulse to give expression to our deformity.
It explores the bodily and existential enjoyment of deformity, ugliness, and extraordinary strangeness as expressive and pleasurable forces, in contrast to the rigidity, Botox, and body shame imposed by the patriarchal beauty standard.
