Being slow and stupid: A mantra that has changed my life

Welcome to the blog of the “Clown Para Ser” school. Here you will find articles, reflections, and news related to our approach to personal, artistic, and spiritual development through the use of clowning and jesterry as tools of expression.

I am a multifaceted being, curious by nature, a lover of human expression in all its nuances, with a holistic and integrative vision of medicine and art as a form of healing and deep connection with the Self.

Upon discovering the language of clowning, I found a place where I could be myself, where my wild mind, which held so much power, became dull, calm, and somehow put itself at the service of others.

At first, I understood nothing, but little by little, I allowed myself to explore my great vulnerability, which I hadn’t even known existed.

This changed how I see myself, how I treat myself, how I love myself. It made me accept myself with my strengths and weaknesses, and it definitively transformed my way of seeing the world and others, making it kinder, more sensitive, and compassionate.

For the past decade, I have combined my clinical work as an allopathic physician in the Emergency Department with providing support to pediatric patients and their families through the Art of Clown in several of Spain’s leading hospitals.

I also facilitate personal and artistic development groups using the language of Clown and Jester from a Gestalt/transpersonal perspective, drawing on the wisdom of ancient sciences and arts from East to West: Qigong, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Andalusian Spagyrics, the Enneagram, Tantra, Harmonic Singing, Tandava Dance, Spontaneous Movement, Trauma Theories, and more.
